Global Boarders Yoga for Surfers

Yoga for Surfers

Yoga's unique benefits include energizing the body and relaxing the mind whilst purifying and strengthening from the inside and out - plus it suits everyone irrespective of fitness levels, size, age or weight.

For surfers in particular, yoga can ease the tightness in shoulders and hamstrings as well as addressing the lower back problems that the sport can cause. It will also improve body awareness, control, balance and strength. This, alongside the experience of being focused and 'in the moment' is very compleimentary to surfing.

Local qualified yoga teacher Leif Olsen has been practicing for 13 years and runs Garbo House Yoga Studio in Penzance. Whether you are a beginner or have experience, you want a strength building, dynamic workout or a more gentle approach, classes can be tailored to your individual needs. All will include breathing exercises to improve mental focus and lung capacity.

Leif has been practicing yoga for 13 years and has discovered through experience one of the great things about yoga is that it suits everyone irrespective of age, fitness levels, size or shape.
"In the early days I found that as my body became stronger and more flexible my outlook on life became clearer and fresher - I felt happier, more positive and energized whilst remaining relaxed. After qualifying as a teacher through the Devon School of Yoga, which utilizes a holistic approach, I studied many different forms - from the dynamic to the gentle. I currently run a yoga studio in Penzance and teach classes within the Penwith area through government sponsored Sure Start organizations and Senior Schools."

The Global Boarders Yoga for Surfers is a programme designed around the needs and of surfers. Whether you are beginning or more experienced, whether you delight in a dynamic, physical challenge or want to be more gentle and explorative, or if you need to focus on any injuries or weaknesses such as back problems... we can discuss prior to you booking what is best for you individually.

You can choose the length of classes and how many you would like to attend during your stay. The cost of a two hour lesson would be £9.50 per person with a minimum group size of 5 and a maximum group size of 12. Or you might like to take a day off surfing and do a bit of yoga instead - all is cool with us.
