Global Boarders Family Surfing Holidays

Families

We welcome families to stay at Global Boarders where either all or just some of the members come to surf. We offer high quality, safe accommodation which is packed with character and style. Uniquely, we have qualified and registered child minders on the team who work days and evenings with children from 3 months old - all of whom are screened by the Criminal Records Bureau [as are all Global Boarders staff].


We will also take the children surfing if parents feel like some time out! Now that's what I call a holiday.

The pricing structure depends upon the number of family members surfing and the amount of childcare required (please contact us direct with your requirements). As a guide, the average 7 night trip for a family of 4 is in the region of £1750.

The minimum age for children to surf is 8 years [but it really depends on their size and capabilities] and they must be confidently able to swim 25 metres or more. There is no upper age limit for the silver surfers!

We can also provide cots and stair gates in the family houses but for safety and insurance reasons child seats must be fixed by a family member into our vehicles if you wish us to transfer children and parents together.

Parents can be safe in the knowledge that all of the Global Boarders staff have been screened by the Criminal Records Bureau. For more information view our policies.

The restaurants which we partner with are child friendly but also adult friendly thus ensuring everybody has great menu choice and surroundings. Alternatively, if you wish to self cater please mention this when you contact us and we will be more than happy to accommodate your requirements.

    We'll travel up country, about 45 minutes drive, to the beautiful Camel Valley. Nestled in an idyllic setting on sun-drenched slopes, near the Camel river, lies the Camel Valley.
    This family run vineyard (2005 International Wine Challenge Gold Medalist) offers the opportunity to tour the vineyard and explore the wine making process and most importantly to taste some outstanding Cornish wines.

Arrival and Transfers

We will greet you at either Newquay Airport [by special arrangement] or Penzance Railway or Coach stations and transfer you to your quality accommodation.

Breakfast

Begin with a leisurely, self-service breakfast where you can feast on pain au chocolat, toast and cereal, organic preserves with lashings of juice and Fairtrade tea and coffee.

Instruction & Equipment

At apx. 10am you will be picked up and taken to the beach by your dedicated Global Boarders surf instructor who will have already checked which beach has the best conditions. Onboard he or she will have your boards and suits [although intermediate and advanced surfers are more than welcome to bring their own equipment by prior arrangement]. At the beach we will provide safe storage for your property, and then you'll then receive 2 hours coaching before a quick break and 1further hour of coaching. We will then get changed and take lunch at a nearby cafe. Travelling and from the beaches takes you through the varied landscapes of Cornwall from the rugged, rural beauty of Zennor to the dramatic cliff drops around Sennen and Lands End.

Lunch

Many of the beaches have their own excellent cafes and bars for more essential sugar breaks! Time to relax, refresh and contemplate your progress while feasting on great food.

Dinner

You can walk to or we can help you organise transfers* to and from a specially selected restaurants where we guarantee the menus and locations are the best which West Cornwall has to offer. After dinner you can stroll through the villages or town to one of the local bars where you can have a quiet drink, catch a band, boogie at a local club or you can return to base, to relax and contemplate your progress.

Departure and Transfers

After breakfast on the day of your departure we'll transfer you to back to your point of arrival. All guests will receive a Global Boarders / BSA diploma [subject to criteria being met], happy memories, maybe a suntan and definitely a smile.
