Hi Ed
I just wanted to say how much we enjoyed the surf lessons.
Steve and Chris went out of their way to make us feel welcome and kept the lessons fun and original. Having never surfed before both my daughter and myself were surfing waves standing up by the end of the first day which is surely testament to some great coaching.
Please pass on our regards to Chris and Steve.

I just want to say thank you for the brilliant experience of surfing Robert and Michael had. They thoroughly enjoyed it and they hope to come back!
Hi Mod and Chris
Just a note to say thank you very much for a brilliant time surfing. Oonagh, Nat and Freddie loved every minute and we are missing the waves already. Thank you for looking after us and making it so fun.

We nearly bought a camper van on the way home which was for sale in someone’s drive! We could just imagine putting our boards on top and driving down to the beach!
Anyway, you can see we are hooked and would love to come again.
Have a great summer, wish we were there!!!

Hi Ed, just back from our holiday in St Ives and wanted to thank you on behalf on my husband Michael and his friend Marcus who had surf lessons with Steve last weekend on Gwithian beach. They thoroughly enjoyed the experience and ended up hiring boards for the rest of the week, and had a great time practicing what they learnt! Steve was a great teacher so please pass on our thanks to him.

June 2010 - Gourmet Surf Weekend
One of the best weekends I have spent as a journalist. I know it was the first gourmet weekend but all seemed to go very smoothly. Was great to hear about the extended world of surfing through Chris and learn from him on waves at Gwithian that were ideal. Great weather helped. And was fascinated by Ben's cooking techniques and bowled over by his humility in teaching and his food.

June 2010 - Gourmet Surf Weekend
Unbeatable combination for a British weekend break. I'd wanted to have a go at surfing for ages, but not knowing one end of a wet suit from another and being a bit of a girl about the whole thing I worried that I would have a miserable time; winding up cold, tired and disheartened... how wrong could I be? Thanks to Chris' patience, humour and enthusiastic instruction, catching that first wave might have given me the bug.
The foodie in me was the main draw to the weekend experience and I savoured every minute of our lesson with Ben in his restaurant. For anyone who loves to cook (at any level), Ben is inventive and fun with his food, has a great sense of humour and uses wonderful local produce. I will be using his menu when I 'meet the parents' next week!
The most memorable weekend I've had in the UK... Hope to be back soon.

Dear Mod,
I had an excellent two days surfing with Chris, just wanted to write and say thank you. He was an excellent teacher great: highly skilled but modest, encouraging but not intimidating, charming, patient and kind (speaking as a teacher I know these characteristics are not a given!!).
I learnt a lot and tried my first 'proper' sized waves... he mentioned a trip to Portugal in October. If I am of a suitable standard, and you have places I'd be interested to find out more.
Best wishes for a good summer of surf!

Dear Mod and all at Global Boarders
We are writing to say a huge thank you to you and the entire team that were working on Thursday 27th May when the Keep It In The Family programme came.
It was a fantastic evening, all the families absolutely loved it and everyone was really buzzing after the session. It was great to see most of the parents join in too!
Several families told us they thoroughly enjoyed it and were hoping to go again - so we are really pleased you have inspired them enough to take up an activity!
Ed, Chris and Steve were really patient and really fantastic teachers with such a big group of different ages and abilities.
Thank you again for your help!

Dear Mod and Chris,
Thank you very much again for the lovely time the girls had with Global Boarders. They really enjoyed themselves and had lots of fun. And, of course, they learned a lot due to Chris' great tuition.
So, hopefully, we'll be back next year and hope to surf again in this lovely countryside.
Best wishes and have a great and busy summer!

Dear Mod
I would like to thank you for being so helpful in organizing our holiday. It was far more enjoyable than I had anticipated. Your lovely warm cottage, fully stocked with food, the advice and booking of restaurants, was much appreciated & made for a good end to the day.
It was my first visit to Cornwall, Anna's first time in the sea ( which she seemed unfazed by ) our first time on a surf board. With fifty years between us, we both agreed it was a good week away. Surfing has much more to offer than I had realized. I hope your school programme has positive feed back.
Please thank Steve & Chris for encouragement, easy to follow instructions, & enthusiasm, they have chosen a great sport, physically demanding, mentally relaxing.
A big "thank you" from Anna & myself for a great week. For a child to ask for her bed, and for me to forget all my problems for a week, shows it was a relaxing time away.

Dear Mod
Thanks so much, we had the best time - we all felt totally relaxed, had some excellent tuition and felt inspired by the environment and the people. You are a great judge of character to have such trustworthy and professional souls such as Chris and Duncan. Both of these guys are brilliant - polite, helpful, great instructors and totally customer focused.
The very fact that I felt totally relaxed is because I and my family felt very secure in your hands and yet you managed to do all of this without being constrictive and suffocating. I've already mentioned what you guys do in my local pub and your business by 'name' to a couple of families who might be interested in the stuff you do.
Thanks again from Keith, Jack, Arch & Princess Millie

September 2009 - Surf Experience Day
What a great day - thoroughly enjoyable. We'll definitely recommend Global Boarders to others. As we are both in our forties, not hugely sporty and complete surfing novices, we were understandably quite apprehensive. However, the mood and the pace were so relaxed that at no stage did we feel out of our depth or intimidated. Many, many thanks for a fantastic experience.

Dear Mod,
Just a quick e-mail to say thanks to Global Boarders for a fantastic holiday. I now have the surf bug and I'm planning how I can get down there again! The whole package was great and the accommodation was lovely.
Chris was a fantastic instructor, letting me learn at my own pace and giving me a real taste of the whole surfing experience. I even enjoyed wiping-out, which is just as well because I did it a lot…
I think you may have spoiled me for any other surf companies.

Dear Mod
There is something about holidays that can make you dissatisfied with ordinary life for a while!
We enjoyed our holiday very much and you and Chris made it very easy to take part in the surfing. We really enjoyed the challenge and are looking forward to seeing the photographs; especially as we have some sceptical friends who still don't believe we got to standing up.
The accommodation that you found for us was second to none and our 'landlords' were so pleasant.
We hope that we can get back to Marizion in the future.

Dear GB Team,
Just a short email to say a very big thank you for the two surfing days we had last week with Chris. The setup you have there is great, couldn't fault anything. Everyone was full of praise for Chris, both for his tuition and clarity (with German-speakers especially). We have all well and truly got the 'surfing bug' and will be sure to be in touch on future visits.

Surf Experience Day
I had the pleasure of being invited to experience not just the services Global Boarders offers, but also to have a taste of what surfing is all about. I found the whole experience really fun, enjoyable and a definite “must have” for the would-be surfer.
We were welcomed by Chris, whom I found not just friendly and courteous but also knowledgeable and professional. We were a group of 6 people, all newcomers to the surfing world. All, equally eager to learn the ropes and utterly unaware of just how much fun the whole experience would turn out to be.
Once formal introductions and presentations were over, Chris drove us to Gwithian, a beach with ample space and ideal for surfing lessons. He structured the day into 3 key lessons, safety and warming up, catching the wave and paddling , and finally standing up. One thing that I really liked is that he didn’t just jump into the water to impart his lessons, he first talked us through everything there is to know safety-wise. And we did not get into the water without first properly warming ourselves up.
The very first attempts to mount the board proved difficult but nevertheless we succeeded eventually. The first part of the lesson was over, with an accomplishment under our belt but with another challenge that was yet to come: standing up.
Standing up, in itself being the most difficult part of the surfing routine, was professionally explained and demonstrated by Chris; and after we made a few rehearsals in the beach, we were ready to try the real thing in the water. The first couple of times it was really tough, but we persevered and our efforts paid off. The whole group was chuffed with the very first successful standing-ups. And we all cheered on each other like if we’ve known for ages! What an awesome feeling!
After the first two surfing lessons were over, it was time for lunch. We then headed towards a surfers’ café, in the beach near by. We had a quick lunch and it was then time to go to the second beach, right next to a headland in CarbisBay. Again, a secluded, unspoilt location with plenty of decent waves. The day progressed and our skills somehow seemed to have improved, and the whole group managed to go from complete novices to the “not so” quite novice, in just a few hours.
Overall, it was a truly memorable experience and something that I will be recommending to everyone I know, whether surfing is in your mind or not. Global Boarders strives to provide a superb service. And remember, it’s a whole lot more than just surfing. It’s more about finding a passion. And I think I found mine.

Surfing had been on my to-do list for a while and I can’t think of a better introduction to the sport than the one I got from Global Boarders. The instructors really know their weather and their waves, which means you’re guaranteed to find the best surf in Cornwall on any given day. And their enthusiasm is infectious. The accommodation they offer is also second to none – I stayed in a four-star converted barn just outside of the tiny fishing village of Mousehole and didn't want to leave. It doesn’t matter if you’re a beginner or a pro, excited or scared stiff - they'll coach to all levels and abilities and you'll feel safe. I was hooked instantly and my next trip will definitely be with Global Boarders – they really go the extra eco-friendly mile to ensure you have the best experience possible.

Mod and Chris managed to get myself and the kids to overcome the challenges of surfing with knowledge and encouragement, helping us to achieve something new on each day of surfing. Nothing is overlooked and nothing is a problem (apart from getting the kids out of the water at the end of a days surfing!)
Global Boarders provide outstanding customer service.

I was always impressed by the way you leapt on any issue and dealt with it there and then, however trivial, with equal attention. No problem was too great or too minor, and always dealt with in a friendly and down to earth manner.
We will be back this summer. The ultimate endorsement!

April 2009
From start to finish, Chris and Mod exceed all expectations for customer service. Arranging a holiday with them feels like arranging a get-together with old friends, and the feeling persists even after the holiday is over, down to the holiday snaps and “see you again soon” thank-you letters.
Going on an activity holiday with my 9-year-old son, I was concerned that the size and age difference would make life a bit tricky. Surfing is a fantastic experience, but I worried how he would cope in the waves. With me needing to go into rougher water way out of his depth, I wasn’t sure how he would get on. Well, I needn’t have worried, Mod and Chris are a fantastic team! Whilst Chris spent time with the adults in deeper water, Mod looked after the children in shallower water. In no time at all, I was completely confident in their experience and care. We all had a fantastic, safe, exciting time.
But they didn’t stop there. When we arrived, Chris met us at the station, and Mod had stocked our cottage with delicious foods for breakfasts. They brought sunscreen and water down to the beach, and made sure we used them. Chris took my son on a ride on his surf board into deeper water, perfectly safe but giving Sholto a great thrill. And when the weather closed down, we were taken on a fascinating tour around a beautiful part of Cornwall. And I noticed that, when either of them spotted any litter, they quietly bagged it and took it away with them, keeping Cornwall beautiful for locals and visitors alike.
Thanks Mod and Chris, you are a great team.

April 2009
We (the Crosse family from Nottingham) had a window to visit Cornwall for the first time last summer(2008) at very short notice, ie 24 hours. We really fancied surfing but hadn’t a clue where, who, how and what. I found Global Boarders on the internet and put a call in on the off chance at 8.30pm. Within 5 minutes of a message left Mod Lefroy called me and we discussed needs and budget. She called me back later that evening and gave me a list of options and gave me a huge amount of confidence in her company and the products offered. Next morning I called her and booked.
Now bearing in mind I had already spent 2 hours on the internet that evening trying to find suitable accommodation (and come up against a brick wall) I was hugely impressed. However, the jury was still out as to the holiday and what I had blindly agreed to. I needn’t have worried, the accommodation was great and the surfing, from tuition to location and safety was simply outstanding. Chris, who was our instructor gave confidence and expertly guided us in all aspects – so important as I let my kids enter the surf.
Overall, what a great company, led by two passionate caring individuals – total professionals and very positive in all things Cornwall!

I would just like to pass on my thanks to you on behalf of my son Chris Jackson who had 4 lessons with you during the past week. He appeared to thoroughly enjoy and benefit from the experience.
I was in the sea last Wednesday afternoon whilst Chris was having his lesson at Hendra. From what I could see of the lesson and having spoke to his instructor (Steve) both before and after the lesson it was clear he was in experienced hands. I again bumped into Steve, whilst out running (returning from Prussia Cove) and he was finishing a group lesson at Perranruthnoe on Friday when he gave me a good, brief, précis of the progress Chris had made.
The recommendation I had received about your company during my previous stays in Marazion with Paul and Judith at ‘Blue Horizon’ were wholly accurate and I would have no hesitation in making further bookings for Chris when we visit again.
Having strong service and family connections with the county and being a regular returnee to the area, I am pleased to say that Marazion is the friendliest place I have visited. Please pass on our thanks to all your staff for their friendly, professional approach which helped ensure another enjoyable visit.

Thank you all so much for **THE FEAR CLINIC.** As ever, I learnt so much, had such a good time, was so comfortable, felt both looked after and usefully stretched, making progress with my surfing I would never have achieved on my own. I would urge everyone to both spend as much time in the water as they can, and also, every now and again, have some kind of stocktake with Global Boarder's fantastic instructors, where you will learn more than you could have imagined.

Again, I am astounded (if there's a better word I can't think of it) at the level of seriousness and commitment you guys put into surfing. Every time you seem to excel yourself. Chris's total dedication to the sport and to his pupils is clearly demonstrated with the contents of The Fear Clinic. I live by goals (well, defining them and mostly then avoidance) and was a little turned off with the thought of yet
more structure into play time.
I can tell you, though, after looking through it, I haven't stopped thinking about it and my feelings have polarised. I now feel more determined than ever and now know what I want to achieve my next time out (yes, I really had to restrain myself from booking my next trip before I left this one).
Soon you will be paying me to stay away!

We all really enjoyed the surfing and are very pleased we booked with you. From the moment of our initial enquiry and booking the service was helpful and knowledgeable and showed attention to detail. (Many thanks for the Pure marg and decaff drinks)
Lowena was a homely and well appointed base to return to each night. Incidentally we really appreciated the comfy beds, fluffy duvet and pillows. Normally beds away are awful. Beach towels were a great plus too, as was the provision of breakfast.
Chris was a very patient and positive instructor. He passion for the sport showed through and he remained enthusiastic throughout. the flexibility for members of a group to dip in and out of the water sessions is a plus, as is the flexibility of the surf vacations section to vary the day's programme to suit.
If we are able to come on another of your holidays we would have no hesitation in booking.

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?
Being taken to places that we would otherwise never have ventured to, seeing my children and us standing up on their boards!!! Oh, and a particularly lovely beach cafe in the early evening!!
2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?
Be prepared for some hard work and some great rewards, take very little with you - you won't need it and enjoy!!!
3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, and minimized impacts on the environment?
Absolutely!
4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?
Just great - a beautifully balanced holiday - doing something active with our ever growing children - a gorgeous place to stay in and relax - with great facilities (and yes, I do believe that it might have the best shower in Cornwall!) See you next year!!
Star rating?
**** Some wonderful memories, I would not hesitate to recommend it to a friend

We were down in Cornwall on a last minute holiday and I was looking for some help getting all of us surfing. I phoned Global Boarders out of the blue and it was great that they would even let my 6 year old get started too as he could swim. My 10 year old was a bit skeptical but after half an hour into the first lesson he wanted to book all week. Jon and Chris were excellent, Jon especially so with my youngest who was surfing tandem with him and loving it. But the end of the 3 lessons all 3 of my kids were standing (my youngest going tandem) and I got to surf (and stand!) too. Can't get better than that. We all loved it.
We shall be back! Like the sound of the surf safaris too.

Whilst I am aware that Global Boarders are increasing their national profile they are also developing new and exciting community links and initiatives here in West Cornwall. Penwith Extended Schools comprises thirty four schools and a priority is to create positive opportunities for children and young people outside of school hours that they might not be able to ordinarily access. Global Boarders are ideas driven and keen to forge links with schools and the voluntary and community sector. Their enterprising and friendly approach makes Global Boarders part of an evolving partnership between business and extended schools that is bringing real benefits to the community in and around Penwith.

In times of hyper sensitively, blame culture and in a potential high risk sport, I feel extremely relaxed and at ease when students are surfing with Jon from Global Boarders. Jon has great interpersonal skills and students relate to and respect him. I would have no hesitation in recommending his services to anyone.

Global Boarders are used as an outside provider by Penwith Pupil referral Unit. We have group sessions and 1:1 sessions running successfully with vulnerable boys who are permanently excluded from school due to their challenging behaviour. These sessions work because of the clear ground rules set from the start, the good organisation of resources, the behaviour modelling of the excellent instructor and the high expectations throughout the sessions. After a series of sessions we have already noticed a boost in their self esteem having found something that they can experience success with. These sessions have become a highlight in their programme.

St Mary's C. of E. School has used Global Boarders from when they first started. Each year we have had a group of keen and enthusistic children and parent helpers heading for our local beaches. All children whatever their ability have made great progress, even if surfing does not come easy to them. They learn to have real respect for the sea while still having fun. Over the years my parents have been full of praise for the instructors.

We had the most magnificent time! My sister and I both found Jon to be a fine tutor. He was incredibly gracious even though we were late, offered fantastic tuition and quite literally made our experience. I cannot recommend him higher. I found the experience of doing rather than telling the best way to learn and we spent over our time in the water, something which he did not have to do under the circumstances but took it upon himself to do it anyway. Thanks to his tuition I got up on the board first time and it was such a rush.
I think that Jon has a way of making people feel confident and urging them to progress when they may feel dubious but only where he believes there is justification. He is also able to connect with many different people, and have a laugh with them. My sister and I will be coming back to Cornwall and will only have lessons with your company. I think that above anything else would show you what an asset he is to yourselves.

Having the Instructors meet us where we were staying was really helpful as was their extensive local
knowledge. Coupled with this was the flexibility to choose the most suitable beach on the day for our skill level, including accommodation for the more intermediate level surfers in our group, letting them expand on what they felt they needed to.
The flexibility of the Instructors was fantastic, catering for all levels in our group, getting even the complete beginners standing and trying tricks by the second day. The weather was really kind to us and the beaches were beautiful. Everyone on the trip said they had an amazing time and are nagging us to get back down there as soon as possible!'
Thank you so much for all you helped us out with Ed, it was a pleasure planning this with you.

One of our best holidays ever! Initially the holiday was a challenge to myself as I hate the sea but by the end of the week I ached all over from laughing so much! The three boys (13, 13 and 14) had a blast, especially the 14 year old who usually struggles to raise any enthusiasm for any sport that doesn't involve the Xbox or food! Mod and the team were generous with their time and nothing was too much trouble - we look forward to returning.

Second visit for me to Global Boarders. I came being able to stand for a few seconds and I go away being able to catch green waves, turning and catching the waves consistently. Chris and Steve are really fantastic, intuitive surf instructors. Mod is really welcoming, with phone calls every day to make sure everything is fine. I will be back. Thanks to all the wonderful people that make up Global Boarders!

An article in The Telegraph led me rather impulsively to book a five day surfing course with Global Boarders. I had no other expectations other than Jack really wanted to learn how to surf.
It was fantastic fun, the instruction was easy for Jack and I to follow with plenty of time for us to practise in the water. Predictably Jack was standing up on the first day!
Luxurious accommodation in a very pictureque situation - we will be back.

Global Boarders provided me and a group of co-workers with an excellent few days away. The coaching was at a perfect level, pushing us enough but still enjoyable. By the end of it, all twelve of our group were able to stand up and even perform basic tricks - not bad considering none of us had surfed before! The amazing scenery just added to make for a very relaxing stay. If they could get us to stand up I think they will be able to help anyone get to that in a day or so. I would definitely recommend searching them out when down in Cornwall.

Everything was preprepared, efficiently dealt with and fulfilled with a smile - we had nothing to worry about. The surf tuition, accommodation and evening entertainments were all top notch - and the DVD was a great memento. This surf break is the most requested incentive we run and sales improved by 33%. The service provided by Global Boarders was very impressive. They were there to greet us as we stepped off the train and from that point were there to cater for all our needs. The instruction was first rate, very friendly and encouraging. Real credit must go to Chris, Steve and Ed for getting us on our feet as quickly as they did. The lessons were varied with new tricks and board running for when the waves were flat.

We used Global Boarders whilst on location in Cornwall shooting Channel 4's "A Place by the Sea".
They were quick to respond to our short notice request, with professional and keen surf instructors.
We were impressed with their low student to instructor ratio, which proved highly productive for our filming and also for our student's progression. This professional and friendly approach helped both parties achieve a great deal over the duration of 1 lesson.
In our experience Global Boarders have got it sorted. Highly recommended!

Even the train journey was relaxing. Pulling out of Paddington, the five hours by rail to Penzance, watching the coast and sea ease by, was the perfect way to get in the mood for what was to prove the perfect surf experience.
After being picked up by Chris, our instructor, we hit the waves immediately, washing away the stresses of the capital after first being given the basics on the beach about how to get to our feet. By the end of the first session, we were standing on the boards in white water - admittedly, with no marks for style, but a massive buzz just from the feeling of being carried along by the power of the sea.
We had two sessions a day, which felt about right, although I was walking like a 90--year-old by the end of it. One of the delights was in the accomodation at Raginnis Barn, where we retired to recuperate. Overlooking the bay, with swallows whistling about in the evening, it is a great spot to chill out. Although the pubs and restaurants of Mousehole were just a ten minute walk away, we never made it out a single evening, eating in the barn, watching some surfing videos and then in bed at a ridiculously early hour. And never once did I wake up in the night.
By the time I left for the train home, I can't pretend to have achieved major skill on the board. But I could stand up. And most of all, I enjoyed it immensely. Nice people, brilliant scenery, fantastic waves and all very relaxed. I can't think of a better way to spend a holiday.

This was, for me, the perfect surf weekend. From the moment we were picked up at Penzance train station, everything was laid on and arranged for us. We were surfing within an hour of arrival, the tuition - in small groups - was brilliant and the instructors drove around to find the best waves in the area. In three days, I learned more than I had in three years of surfing. Raginnis Barn is a lovely place to stay and everyone at Global Boarders could not have been friendlier.
My partner also took advantage of the "non-surfing partner" option and she had a relaxing weekend visiting Mousehole, Penzance and St. Ives, whilst I surfed during the day. We breakfasted together, met up in the evening and wandered down to the pretty, local village of Mousehole for dinner.

If you are in Cornwall, check out Global Boarders, a young eco-friendly company, which, as well as offering more up-market accommodation, provide a mobile service where surfers are driven to the beaches which have the best waves on any given day.
If, like me, your perfect holiday is to combine being active during the day with staying somewhere comfortable and cosy at night, then book a surf holiday with Global Boarders. I found the level of surfing instruction and the equipment were exceptional - as is the staff's local knowledge of the best beaches to surf on any given day.
Unlike other surf schools which are based at one beach, Global Boarders drives you to wherever in the west of the county the surf is best. If you don't mind "roughing it" at night, then head to any one of hundreds of surf lodges in and around Newquay. If, however, you are happy to pay a little more for stylish accommodation - and a view to die for - then head to Global Boarders' cleverly-converted barn near Penzance. After a hard day's surfing, I felt I "deserved" to stay somewhere a little special!

Month of Corporate Incentive September 2006 [Returning September 2007]
We used Global Boarders as a residential surfing provider on a recent sales based incentive trip for 14, in Cornwall, UK. As a sales incentive the trip produced a lot of interest amongst the staff and good sales. As a surf trip, every detail was taken care of - all we had to do is relax. The quality of the trip was in keeping with Moët Hennessy's luxury brand image.
From the very beginning Global Boarders understood the level of trip which we required and all correspondence was dealt with efficiently and quickly. They came in on budget and on time. They set the tone of the trip by arranging a private barbeque at the beach for us, straight after our first surf session. The surfing was great and the four days ran smoothly. They selected the best beaches daily based on the conditions - which were pretty good - bright sunshine and strong waves! The instructors, who picked us up from our accommodation and transferred us to the beaches in 2 corporate VW vans, were always on time and were laid back and friendly whilst still delivering good quality teaching which was enjoyable and accessible for the entire, mixed ability group.
As the trip leader, I felt confident in the organisation and execution, which left me able to focus fully on my clients, whilst simultaneously being able to relax and enjoy the surfing myself. The trip was structured around our personal requirements and comfort whilst achieving the right balance between efficiency and fun. The surfing, transfers, accommodation and food were all first class. I would not hesitate to recommend Global Boarders to any company or individual looking for a high quality, stylish and rewarding surf vacation. We all left with a DVD film featuring our surfing antics and feeling relaxed, inspired and thinking about our next surf trip...

Thank you SO MUCH for an amazing trip a few weeks ago. The whole thing was such a happy escapade it still seems rather like a dream - except it was true! I was really amazed by the care which was put into researching what I wanted in advance and then making sure it all happened! I REALLY couldn't believe where I was staying, how beautiful, peaceful, comfortable the Barn is, or how much care was taken to sort out my quirky food fads and stuff.
And then the surfing was amazing, what luck to have such perfect weather in early March, warm sun and regular waves, or perhaps that was arranged by Global Boarders too? Chris, my instructor was a total legend, patiently answerting my endless questions, taking me to a series of wonderful and fairly secret spots, each perfect for the weather and my ability. Chris also very sensitively helped me with my surfing and get plenty of practice.
The whole visit was so well prepared and everyone was so kind and thoughtful that I fellt entirely as if I was staying with exceptionally kind old friends. Thank you so much.

The service was great right from the first enquiry. I arranged a trip for 8 novice girl surfers. Everyone was very down to earth, accommodating and approachable. I made several changes to the itinerary during the booking process and I felt like it was no hassle.
The van and the transfer options were a very big bonus for us. There was never any worry about how to get about and Adam was extremely patient and helpful. He pointed out different highlights around the area and places to go. Waiting for us in Penzance when we first arrived whilst we went shopping was great too!
The instruction was perfect... we all stood up on the board the first day so very thorough and and fabulous fun!!!!
Great, delicious food. The staff were very relaxed and even offered to take our photo outside during the sunset!

If you want to learn how to surf properly with fun and patient instructors who actually know how to surf and teach properly then Global Boarders is ideal for you. I'm so glad I got to join GB this summer when I arranged a surf holiday with them. The website informed me on practically everything I needed to know. I was on the girls surf holiday Rip Curl Girls Go Surfing sponsored by Davidoff. Everything from enquiring about the holiday to arranging it was excellent. Mod, the person who handled everything, was so friendly and organised. All I had to do was arrange my flight to Newquay Airport! Transfers were included so I felt rather spoilt especially upon receiving a GB goodie bag of Moet champagne, Cornish fudge and a GB T shirt.
Everything was ACE. Chris, the GB Instructor, worked with the beginners group, then Adam, GB Head Coach, took over when Evie, a friend I made who was also on the trip, and I were more capable! Glad to say that GB has a great balance of professionalism and the ability of having a laugh with us mere beginners. I was a bit sad to leave because I have made great friends this summer. Global Boarders is a great company. My arms ached & sand was everywhere but it was worth it. Apart from my surfing certificate and a DVD of me surfing, I have come back with great confidence knowing I could surf all thanks to the Global Boarders team for all their support. See you next summer.

I'm sitting in the office, the rain's lashing down, the nights are drawing in... But you don't really care when you think back to those gnarly waves you caught a few weeks ago! It's so easy to grab hold of that surfing lifestyle Global Boarders show you. Morning surf guiding and instruction, beachside lunch, afternoon surf session & evening beach bbq.
I'd used other surf schools before, but none had the same relaxed and enthusiastic nature as Global Boarders. Even when conditions did not favour the group (the waves were too big), the instructors hot-footed it to our accommodation and they were really unhappy that they couldn't take us out. Global Boarders just gave us the feeling that even when they're not surfing or instructing you, they want to be out there catching the wave next to you!
Global Boarders offer an unrivalled service; the equipment (corporate vans, Rip Curl wetsuits and boards) is top notch, the instruction inspiring and the setting perfect. Apparently they have just added another amazing property to their portfolio - they have all bases covered.

Adam was really helpful by directing me towards the right equipment which I'd need as a starter surfer, as I plan to take it up n a regular basis in Tynemouth!

The website is also very informative and is far better than any other surf schools' sites I have seen.
The van and transfer was really good - if there is a group of you it is easier to all jump in the van instead of taking separate cars especially when you are not sure where the beaches which you will be surfing are.
The lesson was great despite the weather! Adam went through things thoroughly on the beach before we took to the water and gave us good instruction. He also always had a smile on his face!
I have surfed through two different companies before and Global Boarders was definitely the best!
Dinner at The Beach was fantastic, the food, location and service was all excellent and I would definitely go back. The deal we got through Global Boarders was brilliant. I will definitely use Global Boarders again!

I thought that the service which Global Boarders provided was very friendly, helpful and professional.
The van and the transfer options were really useful - you can't beat being picked up and dropped off outside your accommodation.
As far as instruction goes, it was the best surf lesson and session I've ever had.
Dinner at The Beach Restaurant was excellent - really good food and a great view of the sunset!

Global Boarders organised a lesson for a friend and I at very short notice and without any hassle. Our instructor was friendly, relaxed and really encouraging despite our completely novice status. It was great to have an instructor just for the two of us and it meant we both got lots of attention and support. I thoroughly enjoyed my afternoon of surfing and would recommend Global Boarders as a professional and friendly outfit.

Our school has recently used Global Boarders to provide a one-off opportunity for our Year 6 pupils to enjoy a surf lesson. This took the form of 2 groups of children each going on a consecutive Wednesday after school and returning to the school site at 6.45 for collection by parents, one group of 16 and one of 15 children. On each occasion Global Boarders provided a minibus to take 8 children, and we organized teachers and parents to drive the reminder.
Global Boarders visited our school beforehand to brief the children, and both afternoons were successful and much enjoyed by the children. There was good communication between Global Boarders and our school at all times.
Surf boards and wet suits were provided for all children who required them and were of good quality, the instruction was of a high standard and the children all seemed to progress very quickly.
A number of our pupils have now expressed a desire for more surfing lessons and we have made Global Boarders' details available to them as based on our experience we have confidence in their ability to provide a good service.

I had a fantastic time on our surfing trip. Everything was really well organised and thought out, making it all very relaxing. The food, both at the beach and at the hotel was great and the organic theme really added to it. The surfing instruction was thorough, encouraging and laid back and inspired me to want to go again. Both Rob and Adam were very professional and gave us all confidence.
I would definitely use Global Boarders again and will be recommending my friends to do the same. Thanks for a great few days!

Our school are using Global Boarders to run our after school Surf Club each week. The children are having a lovely time; they enjoy their lessons while they are picking up excellent skills, not just in surfing, but water safety and survival.
All the equipment is first class and well looked after and having the bus to pick up over half of our pupils is a real bonus, making it work for our school where many parents can't fetch and carry.
The parents that go each week are very impressed with the high standard of the two instructors. They have good discipline while still allowing the children to have fun.
Global Boarders answered all our queries quickly and came into school before our first lesson to ensure that everything would run smoothly. Paperwork and e-mails were very clear at all times.
We would happily recommend Global Boarders.
